Hi, I’m
LEVI.
I was born in Seattle, Washington, to an artist mother and a table-tennis-champion father. At seven, my parents enrolled me in ballet to channel an excess of energy, a choice that eventually led to a professional career with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.
During my time in Pittsburgh, my focus began to shift away from dance and toward visual art. After several seasons with the company, I hung up my tights and moved to New York City to study at The Cooper Union School of Art, where my work gravitated toward portraiture and journalism.
Following graduation, I began shooting on assignment for publications including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, GQ, and Monocle. Over the past decade, my practice has centered on documenting people and moments with clarity, intention, sensitivity, and warmth.
My entry into wedding photography was personal. On a breezy September day, I married the love of my life, surrounded by family and close friends, and experienced firsthand the value of careful, observant documentation of a wedding celebration. Working with our own photographer clarified what I could offer others: an informed, editorial approach to documenting a celebration of love. I find it a privilege to participate in and relive such joyous celebrations through my clients.
When I’m not photographing weddings, I’m working as a busy editorial and portrait photographer. On days without a camera, I’m at the park with my family, on a long bike ride up 9W, or losing a few balls at Marine Park Golf Course.
I live in Queens, New York, with my wife, Corinna, and our daughter, Olive.
